SAT topic
Systems of equations
Solutions that satisfy every equation at once.
Learning goals
- Solve a two-equation linear system by substitution or elimination.
- Interpret a solution as a point that lies on both graphs.
Explanation
A system contains two or more equations whose solutions satisfy all equations simultaneously.
Common mistakes
- Finding a value that works in only one equation and stopping.
- Adding equations that do not cancel a variable and calling the result a solution.
Practice
