Marlow Works questions. If this unit does not have its own items yet, you will see other questions from the same course.
Read this original excerpt from a park-district director: "We can keep treating Saturday soccer as an afterthought, or we can admit that the worn-out fields already tell the story. I am not asking for luxury. I am asking the board to fund lights and drainage so that kids who work weekdays still get a fair game." Write a short rhetorical analysis that identifies the speaker’s purpose and explains how two choices (diction, contrast, or audience address) advance that purpose.
Original Marlow Works item — not a College Board question.
Take your time—this is practice, not a test.
Review checklist
- 01Read the thesis and each topic sentence aloud as a mini-outline.
- 02Cut a sentence that repeats a previous one without adding a move.
- 03Check that pronouns have clear owners.
